Welcome to My Fundraising Page! Thank you for supporting the ALS cause! We need a cure!
| Event: | Southern Indiana Walk |
| Date: | Saturday, September 11, 2021 |
| Team: | Stewies Steppers |
Stewies Steppers was started to honor my brother, Junior Klusmeier, who was battling this terrible disease. We lovingly call him Stewie as a nickname. My hope is that one day a cure for this disease will be found. This can only happen through research. Events such as this ALS walk make a tremendous impact on the money that goes to support this research. Please join our team and/or make a donation to support this cause!
Stewies Steppers is a group dedicated to the Walk for ALS. We walk in the Evansville, Indiana Walk to Defeat ALS . It is our greatest hope that a cure can be found. Thank you for supporting the ALS cause!
2020 update:
This is our 7th year to participate in the Walk to Defeat ALS. Our 4th year without Junior being physically present. There still is no cure for this horrific disease...but there is always HOPE! We hope, as did Junior, that a cure will be found. We hope that one day no other families have to endure what Junior and our family went through on his/our journey. We will continue to fight and be a voice for those who are presently fighting and for those who battle no longer. We invite you to join our team whether it is as a walker or a virtual walker. We appreciate all of the support we receive through being a team member, donating to help find a cure that the ALS community so desperately needs, and all of your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and POSITIVITY!

Thank you for helping me reach my Walk to Defeat ALS(R) fundraising goal! This is an exciting opportunity for us to work together to support those affected by Lou Gehrig's Disease and to spread awareness of the urgency to find treatments and a cure.
Please consider walking with me or sponsoring me. With your help, we will be able to make a difference in the lives of people affected by this disease. I encourage you get your friends, family, neighbors and coworkers involved!
Why We Need Your Help
Often referred to as Lou Gehrig's Disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive, fatal neuromuscular disease that slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. The life expectancy of an ALS patient averages 2 to 5 years from the time of diagnosis.
Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against this disease. ALS occurs throughout the world with no racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic boundaries.
This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease though support is bringing researchers closer to an answer. In the mean time it costs an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
